On the 8th of February 2015, Paroche Reach out Foundation visited Babcock University for the formal introductory meeting with interested participants who indicated interest during our last drug awareness campaign at both main & mini campuses of the University. The meeting commenced at about 2:00pm at the main campus. The turnout was not only impressive, it was also encouraging.
Before the Founder/CEO, Titilola Adebayo (Mrs.) commenced her talks on the detrimental effects of drug/substance
abuse/addiction, she asked the students to express themselves on what motivated them to indicate interest to be the ‘megaphones’ to promote the campaign against substance abuse/addiction in the society.
One of them, Miss. Moyinoluwa, stated that as a little girl, she grew up in an environment (Ojuelegba to be
precise) where substance abuse was the order of the day. And while all that was happening, she could not understand the implications until when she grew older and could understand her environment better. Even at that point there was nothing she could do to assist those who needed assistance. She stated that being a member of Paroche club would afford her the opportunity to reach out to people who might need assistance through information dissemination to find solutions to their drug abuse/addiction problems.
The Founder/CEO of Paroche Reach out Foundation used the forum to enlighten the students more on substance
abuse/addiction citing real life experiences about those who have been traumatized and their lives and careers virtually ruined as a result of substance abuse/addiction.
At the end of the discourse, came the question and answer session during which satisfying answers were given to
their questions by the CEO.
Also at the mini campus, the discourse was carried out by the CEO. The highpoint of the meeting was the
election of the following students as pioneer executives of the club:
President: Moyinoluwa Adelakun
Vice president: Agbebaku Ihomeha
Secretary: Lawal Oluwatosin
Project coordinator: Adetunji Oluwanipinmi
Assistant project coordinator: Lawal Akolade
Sponsors: Dr. Mrs. Olaore
President: Jerry-Esigie Efemina
Secretary: Dowodu Opeyemi
Project coordinator: Solomon Ilevbare
The formal inauguration date will be communicated to all as soon as it is agreed upon.
